Hi All,
Today I would like to talk about the program on MTV, called the Roadies. Till last year I started watching this show, once all the selections were done. I had heard a lot about the selection process of the Roadies, about the judges, about how they humiliate the contestants, how they grill them etc. All those who watch must be having a fair idea of what I am talking about. This time I was despearately waiting to see the auditions and selection process. Till date, there have been auditions and all of them were mind boggling.
I realy fail to understand what makes these college students go so wild, so nutts, so berserk, so bizzare on the national television. What is it that drives them to get humiliatied on the national television. I can understand the point of view of the judges, that they have to do it, but what the heck these contestants go for over there.
The IQ level of these contestants is not that great and you know about it just by hearing their answers to one or two questions. All these are mostly the back benchers and around 99 percent are removed or erased in the first round itself. The last round is the personal round which is the most grilling part. There are two judges who screw the contestants who have reached the last round. I will give you an examples of how low can the contestant go to get selected.
There was one candidate by the name of Kabir on the Delhi auditions. This insane person, applied as a blind person and strange thing is also got selected till the last round. In the last round it was found out that he is faking his blindness. And still that Kabir was saying that he is a blind person. Height is the same person comes again in the auditions in Jaipur the next week and again has argument with the judges and is thrown out. Two weeks of shame, two weeks of humiliation, that too in front of the whole nation. I just want to ask that Kabir, what made him do this. I mean what kind of fame, fortune, was he expecting while doing this. Doesn't he have a common sense.
As one of the judges Nikhil Chinappa said he has played a poor joke on the people who are really blind and are fighting with their blindness on a daily basis.
Dear Kabir, If you ever read this, even if you were selected by friend and even if you have won the Roadies, you wouldn't have got that much fame which you have got in the last two weeks. Grow up dear friend grow up. There are many challenges in life than this roadies.
Do inform Kabir, if he is your friend.
Snehal Joshi.
